Notifying the patron

It is important to note the patron’s contact information at the time the request is made.  This information will be needed to let the patron know when their information arrives.  Patrons may be notified most easily by phone or email.  In a large organization such as a school or a hospital, items can be delivered in person or by interoffice mail.  Remember, in the case of a photocopy or electronic copy of an article or other information, this becomes the property of the patron and is no longer the concern of either library involved.
