Recording the ILL transaction

Whichever way an ILL is filled, either copy or original, a record will need to be made showing what was done and for what library.  This might be done automatically in an ILL program, or might be kept on the computer or in paper format.  This record will be used to track statistics on ILL use such as number and type of requests and where they come from.  This record is not needed to track copyright use—that information is the responsibility of the requesting library, not the lending library.
